......Atlantic
transform offsets
| " Look at the King! Look at the the King ! Look at the King, the King, the King ! The King is in the altogether But altogether the altogether he's altogether as naked as the day that he was born." - (small boy). |
Fig.1 Atlantic transform offsets. Contrasting Plate Tectonics' 'counterintuitive' view of ridge offsets (small red arrows) with that of Earth Expansion (big red arrows). Blue line = mid-Atlantic ridge; green lines = continental margins (roughly); thinner red lines = transform faults; big red arrows = obvious offsets of continental margins and spreading ridge as in Earth expansion); small red arrows = offsets according to the *popular* version of plate tectonics.(Note:- In the popular version transform faults offset spreading ridges. In the less popular version, sea-floor spreading does not offset the ridges. )
| Plate tectonics says:- "Material is added at the ridges. Therefore the ocean floors spread away from the ridges. Therefore the sense of motion on the faults is defined by the segment between the ridges, which is dextral (small red arrows). Accordingly, the sum of this "dynamic dextral movement" has given us the ocean floors together with the continental rifting (and displacements) that we see." But the illustration shows what manifest nonsense this is, where transform faults displace continental margins (e.g. Africa - South America, a sinistral displacement). Plate tectonics then would say "Ah, well, then that just shows how another movement has been superimposed and how exquisite this model is, and that (with more research) we can work it out, how it all happens" Earth expansion says:- "What you see is what you get: the ridges are growing upwards and transform faults are simply the expression of lateral adjustment as the gravitationally unstable, upward-growing ridges collapse and flatten off. |
| This masterly
piece of gobbledegook is an even worse indictment of Plate Ttectonics than
the nonsense of subduction (that convenient
assumption) (if that is possible) because it has, as additional ingredient,
<drum roll> almost the entire Ptero$100brains in the world propping
it up.
What they're actually saying here, is that the offsets on the spreading ridges happened before the ocean floors began to open. That is, all over the world, a world encircled by a spreading ridge as continuous as the said "seam on a baseball", the spreading ridges were all displaced to give the brittle offsets that we see at the present day, then like some giant gear change there was this huge 'ca- **** !! ', and everything went into reverse to allow the ocean floors to open by ductile flow in the opposite direction to the initial offset. Not only that, but once the continents dispersed and collided round the other side it happened again - reverse gear (ca-**** !! ) - the regime of ductile flow changed back to brittle failure and then (ca-chungk) ductile flow again, in what is deferentially known as 'Wilson Cycles'. And why, ..with teams of researchers working on it Plate Tectonics will likely come up with an explanation how this can happen, probably along lines of drawing the long bow. Well, why not, ... if they can manage it with pots of soup, why not archery? But right now Plate Tectonics has no explanation whatsoever for this initial displacement of spreading ridges. But they have to adopt it, or their model won't work. Now, don't laugh, because this is serious stuff; it involves five decades (well, at least four) of teaching, and the dummies who swallowed it and still swallow it - some of them are even teaching it to other dummies. Hell! some of these dummies are even running the country! Look at it, ...one of the biggest crustal offsets on the face of the planet involving the continental crust, the immediate underlying spreading mantle, and the spreading ridge that separates them, and they all go 'that-a-way'- the way of the big red arrows. |
. | . | . | But plate tectonics
says this is because the mantle flow (="movement") of the ocean floors
goes 'this-a-way' ( the other way; small red arrows).
Yes? Well, ..since the essence of science is that hypotheses
should be testable you need to put it to the test. Wave your hands
about in front of you, make the left hand the top arrows and the
right hand the bottom ones and watch what happens - ...see if you can make
that movement (the small arrows in the figure) give the offsets that the
big arrows do. Well,, ..does it? This is the sixty-four
thousand dollar question on which careers of a worldful of Earth Scientists
hang, so be careful what you do with those hands.
I suppose no, you must conclude that it can't be done, and so uphold the respectability of science - the huge offset in the middle of the Atlantic must have nothing to do with the spreading of the oceans, and therefore must have already been there before the oceans began to open. Which is what Plate Tectonics says, but not very loudly, not as loudly as it should anyway, if falsification is an issue. So don't listen to that small boy in the caption above. What would he know about Plate Tectonics anyway, when the King, the Queen and all the Courtiers have declared this raiment of Plate Tectonics to be the most remarkable suit of clothes ever to have been woven by Earth Scientists ? Just who were those two hoaxers anyhow? . And who are those who listened to them? ( ... Amazing isn't it, how people can disbelieve the evidence of their own eyes in the rush to be part of the club.) So let's get serious, and see what 'teams of researchers' can do with our money to protect us from the next big global 'ca-CHUNGK'. Because the whole of Plate Tectonics, the holy grail of the Earth sciences, PROVES it can happen. Well, ..with so many people believing it, it must, ...surely... "..Help! Help! The
sky is falling, ...
"..Take me riding in the
car, car..")

Those who would neverthless maintain that Plate Tectonics' representation of transform fault movement is legitimate despite the small boy's revelation and animations depicting the impossibility of ridge offset by transform faulting, (to which it may be added is also Plate Tectonics own stated position) may care to read The Courtiers' Reply , an Open Letter on Richard Dawkins' website to suchlike criticisms of so-called science. They are not uncommon and go to the heart of the difference between rationalism which is what science *should be* about, and the urban myths (like rumpling tablecloths and subduction by sea-floor spreading) which is what Plate Tectonics *is* about.
